Kevin McGonigle (SS, Tigers), Parker Messick (LHP, Guardians), Munetaka Murakami (1B, White Sox), and Payton Tolle (LHP, Red Sox).

The Case for Kevin McGonigle to Win the Rookie of the Year Award
From the moment he stepped onto a major league field, the young Tiger has looked like someone who isn't simply trying to survive his first MLB season. He's looked like someone who is already capable of making a significant impact.
Production From the Start
McGonigle didn't need months to figure out major league pitching. He made his MLB debut on Opening Day and immediately made history with a four-hit performance, including two doubles. That is an extraordinary way for a rookie to introduce himself to the league.
Since then, he's continued to show why Detroit believed he was one of the organization's most important young players. As of September 10th, McGonigle is hitting .273 with 16 home runs, 62 RBIs, OBP of .373 and an OPS of .793. Those aren't numbers that scream "ordinary rookie."

These are the numbers of a player who has been a legitimate contributor throughout the season.
There's another part of McGonigle's case that shouldn't be overlooked. He can play multiple positions around the infield (mainly Shortstop and Third base), giving Detroit valuable defensive flexibility.
A Rookie of the Year candidate shouldn't be evaluated solely by home runs and RBIs. The ability to contribute in multiple areas of the game makes a player more valuable. McGonigle has demonstrated that he can help the Tigers with his bat, his defense and his overall baseball instincts.
He is showing that he is an elite defender at both Shortstop and Third base. And, in my opinion, Kevin McGonigle is the runaway favorite to win the American League Rookie of the Year this season.
